SOBHATI is rooted in an old Indian expression associated with looking beautiful, shining, and adorning oneself.
And that is exactly the feeling we wanted our name to carry.
For us, a saree has never been just a piece of clothing. It is the feeling you get when you drape one, look in the mirror, and somehow feel a little different — a little more beautiful, a little more confident, and sometimes a little closer to your roots.
That feeling is what inspired SOBHATI.
Where Our Story Began
SOBHATI grew from something very personal — our family’s long connection with the saree and textile business.
My father has spent many years understanding the saree industry, working with fabrics, manufacturers, artisans, and customers. Growing up around this work, I slowly began to understand that a saree is much more than fabric and design. Behind every saree are people, skills, countless small decisions, and a lot of care.
While pursuing my education, I developed a strong interest in business, marketing, and building something of my own. With my father’s experience and guidance and my own passion for entrepreneurship, we decided to take what we already knew and build something closer to the customer.
That is how SOBHATI began.
Our aim was simple — to take the beauty and craftsmanship we have grown up around and share it with people not only in India, but around the world.
